Landslides Leave 18 Missing at China-Nepal Border Port
In addition to the human toll, a bridge and nine heavily loaded shipping containers were swept away amid the sudden flash floods.
The disaster occurred at Jilong Port in Tibet, a strategic border point adjoining Nepal, as reported by a Chinese state-run news outlet.
Dhruva Prasad Adhikari, a Nepalese official, confirmed that the missing individuals consist of three police officers, nine civilians, and six Chinese citizens.
Intense rainfall on the Chinese side triggered severe flash floods along the Lende River, causing significant damage to the Customs Office yard at the Rasuwagadhi border crossing between Nepal and China.
